Forrest Lasso (born May 11, 1993 in Raleigh, North Carolina) is an American soccer player currently playing for FC Cincinnati in Major League Soccer (MLS). Lasso played high school soccer at Needham B. Broughton High School in Raleigh before playing four years at Wofford College, where he earned Third Team All-America honors after his senior season. Lasso signed with the Charleston Battery of the USL out of college and spent the 2015, 2016, and 2017 seasons with the Battery. Lasso earned 3 Team of the Week honors and a spot on the 2017 All-league first XI in his third season. Following the 2017 season, Lasso signed with FC Cincinnati for the 2018 USL season where he helped contribute to a historic record-setting year while also earning himself a spot on the 2018 All-league first XI as well as USL Defender of the Year honors. After the 2018 season, Lasso would sign a MLS contract with FC Cincinnati for the 2019 season.

Lasso played three seasons for the Charleston Battery of the USL. In Lasso's rookie season, Lasso started 4 league games while appearing in 14. Lasso notched his first professional goal in the quarterfinals against the Richmond Kickers during that year. In 2016, Lasso would start 10 league matches while appearing in 18 games. Lasso would would finish the year with one more goal than the 2015 season. In Lasso's third season with the Battery, he would start in 26 league games while appearing in 27. Lasso would cap 2310 league minutes, 153 clearances, 28 blocks, and 6 goals in league play while scoring a goal against the Columbus Crew during the Carolina Challenge Cup, and 2 goals during the US Open Cup, one being against Atlanta United. Lasso would earn 3 Team of the Week honors and a spot on the 2017 All-league first XI during his 2017 campaign. 


Lasso played one season in the Premier Development League (PDL) for the GPS Portland Phoenix out of Portland, Maine during the summer of 2013.

Lasso played college soccer at Wofford College as a centerback. During his time at Wofford College, Lasso started in each of the 71 games he played in for the Terriers over his four-year collegiate career. Lasso totaled 14 goals and 8 assists for 36 points during his time at Wofford College. Four of Lasso's goals were game winners, including a header to clinch the 2013 Southern Conference regular season championship over #14 Furman University. Lasso also earned Southern Conference honors all four years of his career for being named to the 2011 Socon All-Freshman Team, the 2012 and 2013 Second Teams, 2013 All-South Region Third Team, 2014 SoCon First Team, and 2014 All-South Region First Team. Lasso also received Third Team All-America honors from the NSCAA. Lasso is the fifth Wofford men's soccer player to earn All-America honors, joining Nick Schuermann as the only other Terrier to earn All-America honors in the Division I era.

Lasso played high school soccer at Needham B. Broughton High School. During his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons, Lasso won conference championships, which advanced the team to the state tournament those years. Lasso was selected to the All-CAP 8 Conference team following his junior and senior years and the All-Region team his senior year. In his final season at Broughton High School, Lasso was selected as the team captain and MVP of the team.


Lasso played for the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) ’92 Elite team, winning NCYSA State Championships in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2010. Lasso served as captain of his CASL ’92 Elite team from 2008-2010. Lasso was also a member of the NCYSA ODP team. CASL has since merged and is currently North Carolina FC Youth.
